Introduce

In The Goonies II - Fratelli Saigo no Chousen, players take on the role of Mikey, the protagonist of the Goonies group. The main objective of the game is to rescue the mermaid Annie, who has been kidnapped by the Fratelli family, along with the remaining members of the Goonies. To accomplish this mission, Mikey must explore a vast, complex, and perilous world.

The gameplay of The Goonies II is divided into two main modes, creating diversity and depth for the experience. The first mode is the traditional side-scrolling platformer. In this mode, Mikey can move left and right, jump, and attack enemies with weapons such as a sling or a boomerang. Players must overcome obstacles, avoid traps, and battle various types of enemies, including members of the Fratelli family and strange creatures. Areas in this mode often have multiple levels and hidden passages, encouraging thorough exploration.

The second mode is the first-person adventure mode, activated when Mikey enters certain doors or pipes. In this mode, the screen displays Mikey's perspective, and players can interact with the environment or non-player characters (NPCs) by selecting actions such as "Punch," "Use," "Check," "Talk," and "Item." This mode is often used to solve small puzzles, find hidden items, or gather information from NPCs (such as mysterious old men and women who may provide clues or important items). Punching walls in this mode can reveal secret rooms or hidden passages.

Mikey has a large inventory containing many useful items, each with its own purpose. For example, "Glasses" help Mikey see invisible passages or items, a "Candle" illuminates dark areas, a "Diving Suit" allows Mikey to breathe underwater, and a "Ladder" to climb to higher areas. Finding and using the correct item at the right time is key to progressing in the game.

The game does not have a traditional save system but uses a password system to allow players to continue their journey from a certain point. The game's difficulty lies in exploring the vast map, finding necessary items, and deciphering clues to locate Annie and the Goonies. Mikey's life bar will decrease when attacked, and players have a limited number of lives. When lives run out, the game ends.
