Introduce

In Galaxian, players control a lone starship positioned at the bottom of the screen. The primary objective is to destroy all waves of alien invaders that appear from the top. These enemies initially fly in fixed formations, creating colorful rows. However, they won't stay put; individual aliens or groups will break away from their formation and dive down to attack your starship by swooping and firing projectiles.

Your task is to move your starship left or right to dodge incoming attacks and enemy fire, while simultaneously shooting back to eliminate them. You can only fire one projectile on screen at a time, which requires players to time their shots and aim precisely. Once all enemies on screen are destroyed, a new wave will appear, often faster and more aggressive. The game has no true end and continues until the player runs out of lives. Galaxian emphasizes dodging skills, quick reflexes, and the strategy of taking down enemies before they can inflict damage.
