Introduce

In Galaga - Demons of Death for the NES, players control a single starship positioned at the bottom of the screen, moving horizontally to evade attacks and fire upon swarms of alien insects.

Each stage begins with enemy formations flying in from the top of the screen, arranging themselves into fixed patterns. Once the formation is complete, individual enemies or groups of enemies will break off and dive towards the player, performing intricate maneuvers and firing projectiles. The player's objective is to destroy all enemies on screen to advance to the next stage.

A distinctive feature of Galaga is the "dual fighter" mechanic. A special type of enemy, the Boss Galaga, has the ability to emit a tractor beam to capture the player's ship. If the ship is captured and the player subsequently destroys that specific Boss Galaga while it is diving to attack, the captured ship will be rescued and combine with the player's current ship, forming a powerful dual fighter with double the firepower. However, this dual ship is also larger, making it an easier target.

Periodically, after several regular stages, players will encounter "Challenging Stages." In these bonus rounds, enemies fly in complex patterns without attacking or firing back. This provides an opportunity for players to accumulate high scores by shooting down as many enemies as possible. Players have a limited number of lives, and the game ends once all lives are lost.

The NES version of Galaga - Demons of Death faithfully retains the addictive and challenging gameplay of the original arcade classic, delivering a timeless shooting experience for fans.
