Introduce

Final Combat is a 1-on-1 fighting game for the NES console, known as an unofficial port heavily inspired by the legendary Street Fighter II. Despite being an unlicensed version, Final Combat attempts to replicate the characteristic fighting experience of the genre.

Players will choose one of the available characters, often familiar faces from Street Fighter II such as Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, or Guile, to engage in intense battles. Each character possesses basic attacks like punches and kicks, and some special moves simplified to suit the NES controller.

The core gameplay mechanism of Final Combat revolves around depleting the opponent's health bar before time runs out. Matches are played in a best-of-three rounds format. Although the graphics and sound cannot compare to the original arcade version, the game still offers a basic fighting experience with simplified stages and special move effects.

As an unlicensed title, Final Combat often has technical limitations such as low frame rates, occasionally unresponsive controls, and a lack of balance between characters. However, for fighting game fans on the NES, especially those looking to experience a “different” version of Street Fighter II, Final Combat remains a title worth trying.
