Introduce

In The Escape from Atlantis, players assume the role of a brave diver tasked with escaping the legendary city of Atlantis as it slowly sinks to the ocean floor. The game combines elements of action and puzzle-solving, requiring players to demonstrate both dexterity and strategic thinking.

Each level presents an underwater labyrinth teeming with dangers. Your primary objective is to collect ancient treasures and artifacts scattered throughout the various sections of Atlantis before finding an exit to the surface. However, this journey is far from easy.

You will encounter numerous obstacles and enemies in the deep sea. Aggressive marine creatures will try to impede your progress, while debris from the crumbling city and ancient traps can pose a threat at any moment. Players need to move carefully, dodging or finding ways to neutralize these dangers.

Another crucial gameplay element is oxygen management. The diver has a limited air supply, and you must find oxygen refill points scattered throughout the level to stay alive. Running out of oxygen results in failure.

Puzzle elements emerge as you must figure out the correct path through complex mazes, sometimes requiring you to activate switches or unlock doors to proceed. Orientation skills and keen observation are key to overcoming these challenges.

As an unreleased prototype, The Escape from Atlantis offers a glimpse into a potentially promising NES game concept, where survival depends on the player's ability to adapt and react quickly in a challenging environment.
