In Eliminator Boat Duel, players are thrust into the thrilling world of high-speed boat racing on the NES. The primary objective is to defeat seven different opponents in a series of head-to-head duels to claim the championship title.

Starting the game, you are equipped with a basic boat. Each race takes place in a one-on-one format, where you compete directly against a specific rival. The in-race perspective is top-down, allowing players to easily observe the race track and upcoming obstacles. You must skillfully control your boat's speed and direction to outmaneuver your opponent and cross the finish line first.

The race courses are not just straight paths; they are filled with challenges. Players must avoid various obstacles such as logs, buoys, dangerous whirlpools, and even sections of land. Colliding with these will slow down your boat and can cause damage. However, there are also money bags scattered on the track that you can collect to earn extra cash.

Winning races earns you prize money. This money is crucial as it allows you to upgrade your boat. Upgradeable components include the engine, hull, propeller, and steering. Each upgrade significantly improves your boat's stats such as top speed, acceleration, durability, and handling, giving you a distinct advantage in subsequent races.

If you lose a race, the game typically allows you to retry or accept the loss and move on. However, if you run out of money and cannot repair or upgrade your boat, it's game over. Eliminator Boat Duel demands a combination of precise driving skills, quick reflexes, and strategic financial management to build a championship-winning boat and dominate the waterways.
