Introduce
In Dragon Power (USA) for the NES, players take on the role of Son Goku, a boy with extraordinary strength, on his journey to find the seven legendary Dragon Balls. This is an action-adventure game played from a top-down perspective.
The main objective of the game is to explore diverse areas, from jungles and deserts to cities and caves, in search of the lost Dragon Balls. Along the way, Goku will encounter countless different enemies, from small monsters to dangerous bosses. The combat system is relatively simple yet effective: players can use the Power Pole for close-range attacks or unleash the Kamehameha wave (though this move has limited uses and requires collecting items).
Beyond combat, Dragon Power also features elements of exploration and environmental interaction. Players can destroy certain objects to find health recovery items, power-ups, or hidden Dragon Balls. Occasionally, Goku will meet supporting characters from the original Dragon Ball series, some of whom may provide information or quests.
A distinctive feature of the game are the "training sessions" or "bonus stages" where Goku can enhance his strength or collect additional items. The game features a scrolling screen structure, requiring players to move carefully and strategically to overcome obstacles and enemies. Each stage culminates in a boss battle, demanding players master combat skills and discover the opponent's weaknesses. Collecting all seven Dragon Balls will lead to a wish, mirroring the original storyline.
