Introduce

In the classic game David Crane's A Boy and His Blob - Trouble on Blobolonia, players take on the role of a courageous young boy and his unique companion, an alien creature named Blob. Their primary mission is to rescue the planet Blobolonia from the tyrannical rule of the Evil Emperor. To achieve this, players must collect treasures scattered throughout the perilous underground caves of Blobolonia.

The unique and core aspect of the gameplay revolves around Blob's shapeshifting abilities. The boy cannot overcome obstacles or solve puzzles on his own; he must rely on Blob. By feeding Blob different types of jellybeans, Blob will transform into various useful objects. For instance, an orange-flavored jellybean turns Blob into a ladder for climbing; an apple-flavored jellybean transforms him into a bridge to cross chasms; a lemon-flavored jellybean makes him an umbrella for slow descent or protection from falling objects; and a licorice-flavored jellybean turns him into a bubble to float upwards.

Players need to think strategically about which jellybean to use in specific situations. Each jellybean type has a unique function, and incorrect usage can lead to getting stuck or losing a life. The boy can throw jellybeans to Blob from a distance, which helps in solving complex puzzles or reaching difficult areas. The game does not focus on combat but rather on puzzle-solving, exploration, and avoiding enemies or traps.

The health system is represented by vitamins that the boy can collect. If the boy touches an enemy or falls into danger, he loses some energy. The ultimate goal is to find and defeat the Evil Emperor, but before that, players must navigate a labyrinth of caves, decipher environmental puzzles, and gather enough treasures to confront him. David Crane's A Boy and His Blob - Trouble on Blobolonia offers a unique platformer-puzzle experience that demands creativity and logical thinking to succeed.
