Introduce
In Challenge of the Dragon, players assume the role of a courageous martial artist tasked with rescuing a kidnapped princess from an evil force. This is a typical side-scrolling action game on the NES system. You will navigate through various environments, from dense forests to mysterious caves and formidable castles, confronting countless enemies blocking your path.
The game's combat system focuses on close-quarters combat. Players can perform basic punches and kicks, along with some special moves like a flying kick or a spinning attack. To progress through the levels, you must defeat all enemies that appear on screen before moving forward. Occasionally, power-up items such as health boosts or temporary strength enhancements will appear after defeating certain foes.
Challenge of the Dragon is known for its relatively high difficulty, requiring players to possess patience and precise timing. Enemies can appear unexpectedly and inflict significant damage. Furthermore, the control system is sometimes criticized for being a bit stiff, demanding players to adapt to execute smooth actions. Each level culminates in a challenging boss battle, where you must discover the opponent's weaknesses to emerge victorious and advance further in your quest to save the princess.
