Introduce

In Beauty and the Beast for the NES, players assume the role of the Beast in his valiant effort to rescue the beautiful Belle from the wicked Gaston. This is a side-scrolling platformer where you must navigate through four distinct stages, each with its own unique setting and array of enemies.

The levels include the perilous Forest filled with wolves and sentient trees, the hostile Village inhabited by aggressive townsfolk, the eerie Castle teeming with monstrous creatures, and finally, Gaston's Lair, where the ultimate confrontation takes place. The Beast possesses two primary attack methods: a powerful close-range claw swipe and a far-reaching roar that fires energy projectiles. Mastering the use of both abilities interchangeably is crucial for overcoming the various challenges.

The Beast's health system is represented by a rose; as he takes damage, petals will fall off. Players can restore health by collecting scattered rose petals found throughout the levels. Throughout your journey, you will encounter a diverse range of enemies, from ferocious wolves and projectile-throwing villagers to flying gargoyles and armored knights within the castle. Each stage culminates in a challenging boss battle, climaxing with the final showdown against Gaston himself. Beauty and the Beast on the NES is renowned for its high difficulty, demanding patience and precise control to complete.
