Introduce

In Paperboy (GB/GBC), players take on the role of a brave paperboy cycling through challenging streets to complete his daily deliveries. The main objective is to successfully deliver newspapers to each subscriber's home while avoiding dangerous obstacles along the way. Each day of the week represents a new level, with increasing difficulty.

The gameplay is deceptively simple yet requires skill and precision. Players control the paperboy as he cycles forward, able to move left or right to dodge hazards. To deliver a newspaper, you need to aim and throw the paper into the correct mailbox or onto the doorstep of a subscriber's house. Successful deliveries earn points, while missing a delivery or throwing a paper at a non-subscriber's house can result in a loss of reputation points.

The street is far from peaceful. Players will encounter a myriad of unexpected obstacles: from frantic cars and aggressive dogs chasing you, to chaotic pedestrians, puddles, and even street brawls. Colliding with any obstacle will cause you to crash your bike and lose a life. The game provides three lives, and once they are all gone, the game ends.

Beyond just delivering papers, players can also earn extra points by causing controlled "vandalism." Throwing newspapers through the windows of non-subscribers' homes, statues, or other objects on the street can yield bonus points. This adds a humorous and sometimes strategic element to maximize your score.

At the end of each delivery day, players enter a special training course where they can throw papers at moving targets to earn extra lives or bonus points. The Game Boy/Game Boy Color version has been optimized to suit the smaller screen and limited button layout, yet it retains the spirit and addictive gameplay of the original arcade classic, offering a challenging and entertaining experience for handheld players.
