Medarot 5 - Susutake Mura no Tenkousei - Kabuto is a unique role-playing game (RPG) for the Game Boy Color, continuing the popular Medarot series. In this game, players assume the role of a new protagonist in Susutake Village, exploring the world and engaging in Medarot battles.

The core gameplay revolves around collecting, customizing, and battling with Medarots. Each Medarot is composed of four main parts: head, right arm, left arm, and legs, along with a Medaforce (core) inside. Players can acquire new parts by winning battles or purchasing them from shops. Mixing and matching different parts allows for the creation of Medarots with unique stats, abilities, and combat strategies.

Battles are turn-based, where players control their team of three Medarots against opponents' Medarots. The objective is to destroy the opponent's Medarot's head part or render their Medaforce inactive. Each part has its own health points and various attack types, such as physical attacks, shooting, support, or defense. Tactical thinking is crucial; players must carefully consider when to use each part's skills and the opportune moment to activate their Medaforce.

Beyond battles, the game features elements of exploration and interaction with other characters in the village. Players will undertake quests, solve puzzles, and uncover mysteries to advance the story. The Medarot progression system allows players to improve their Medarots' skills through battle experience, unlocking new abilities and enhancing overall power.
