In Jack no Daibouken - Daimaou no Gyakushuu, players step into the shoes of Jack, a courageous young man on a quest to prevent the Great Demon King from being revived and unleashing chaos upon the world. This title is an action-adventure game with strong platforming elements, inviting you to explore a vast and intricate world.
The core gameplay revolves around ascending the gigantic magic beanstalk, an iconic element from the classic Jack and the Beanstalk tale. However, rather than a linear path, this beanstalk leads to various distinct areas, each harboring its own secrets, enemies, and challenges. Players must skillfully navigate platforms, avoid traps, and overcome obstacles.
Jack possesses basic attack capabilities to deal with the monsters that stand in his way. Throughout his journey, he will discover and utilize numerous special items, as well as learn new abilities. These abilities not only make Jack stronger in combat but also unlock previously inaccessible paths, encouraging exploration and backtracking to older areas in a light "Metroidvania" style.
