Each level in The Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle is a complex maze featuring multiple floors, ladders, pipes, and interactive objects. Bugs' primary objective is to collect all the carrots scattered throughout the stage to unlock the exit. However, this task is far from simple, as numerous familiar foes from the Looney Tunes universe, such as Yosemite Sam, Daffy Duck, Sylvester, and Wile E. Coyote, constantly patrol the areas. These enemies move in predictable patterns or react to Bugs' proximity, and Bugs cannot directly attack them.

He can climb ladders, use pipes to warp quickly between areas, or, more importantly, employ objects like anvils or holes to temporarily incapacitate enemies. For instance, Bugs can push an anvil to drop it on an enemy's head, stunning them for a brief moment, or lure them into a strategically placed hole. Using doors to trap enemies is also an effective tactic. Occasionally, power-ups like golden or silver carrots might appear, providing temporary invincibility or speed boosts, making it easier for Bugs to gather the remaining carrots.
