Pokémon LeafGreen Version is a remake of the original Pokémon Red version for the Game Boy. The game is a turn-based role-playing game (RPG) where you play as a young Pokémon trainer starting your journey from Pallet Town.
The core gameplay revolves around catching, training, and battling Pokémon. You'll travel across the Kanto region, exploring cities, towns, caves, and forests, catching wild Pokémon using Poké Balls. Each Pokémon has individual stats such as strength, speed, defense, and various types (e.g., fire, water, electric...).
The turn-based battle system requires you to select appropriate moves for your Pokémon to attack your opponent. Choosing the right Pokémon and effective battle strategies is key to victory. Besides battling, you'll also explore the world, solve puzzles, interact with NPCs, participate in various contests and events.
The game features a deep Pokémon training system, allowing you to level up, learn new moves, and develop your Pokémon to become stronger. You can train a team of six Pokémon to participate in Gym battles, defeat Gym Leaders, and ultimately become the Pokémon Champion.
Additionally, Pokémon LeafGreen Version offers various side activities such as hunting rare Pokémon, collecting items, completing quests from different characters, and uncovering hidden secrets within the game world. The Pokémon trading system is also a significant part of the game, allowing you to exchange Pokémon with friends to complete your team.
