Introduce
Grand Theft Auto Advance is a scaled-down but still spirited version of the famous GTA series on the GBA. The game puts players in the role of Mike, a member of the Leone family, trying to establish himself in the violent underworld of Liberty City. Gameplay revolves around completing diverse missions, from simple robberies to larger heists, requiring skill in driving, shooting, and close combat.
Liberty City in Grand Theft Auto Advance is designed more compactly than in versions on more powerful systems, but still features various areas such as commercial districts, residential areas, and ports... Players can freely explore the city, driving various vehicles from cars and motorcycles to trucks, and even ambulances or police cars. The control system is optimized for the GBA's small screen; while simpler than later versions, it still ensures smooth and responsive gameplay.
Besides completing main missions, players can engage in side activities such as racing, causing public disturbances, or simply driving around and exploring the city. A diverse weapon system, from pistols and rifles to bombs, gives players various tactical choices in shootouts. The game also incorporates a character upgrade system, helping Mike become stronger throughout the game. Although the graphics aren't highly detailed, Grand Theft Auto Advance still delivers an authentic and engaging GTA experience on a handheld console.
