Introduce
Zintrick, also known as Oshidashi Zentrix, is an engaging arcade puzzle game developed by Taito. While hack or bootleg versions may exist, the core of the game remains a highly addictive puzzle experience with unique mechanics.
The primary objective in Zintrick is to clear blocks from your screen by forming groups of three or more identically colored blocks. However, unlike many other falling-block puzzle games, Zintrick introduces an innovative "pushing" (Oshidashi) mechanic. Instead of blocks dropping from the top, new blocks appear from the bottom of the screen, and you must push them upwards or sideways to arrange them.
Players control a cursor or a small character capable of moving around the playfield. When a new block appears, you must strategically position it so that it connects with other blocks of the same color. The unique aspect is that you don't simply rotate or move existing blocks; instead, you push new blocks into place. This pushing mechanic requires players to think ahead about the block's trajectory and how it will affect the entire screen's arrangement.
When three or more blocks of the same color connect (either horizontally, vertically, or even diagonally in some variations), they disappear, scoring points. Like other puzzle games, creating chain combos (clearing multiple groups of blocks consecutively) yields significantly higher scores and can send "garbage" or "penalty" blocks to an opponent's screen in two-player mode. These penalty blocks are typically uncolored or iron blocks, acting as obstacles that are difficult to remove, forcing the opponent to clear them quickly to avoid their screen filling up.
The game usually features a single-player mode with the goal of achieving the highest score, or a versus mode against the computer or another player. The visual presentation of Zintrick is typically bright and colorful, with cheerful sound effects accompanying block disappearances or combo creations. Regardless of whether it's a hack or bootleg version, the core gameplay of Zintrick retains its appeal and challenge, demanding both strategic thinking and quick reflexes to succeed.
