Introduce
Wit's is a unique arcade puzzle game released by Taito in 1990. In this game, players control falling blocks known as "Wit's" that descend from the top of the screen. Each Wit's has a distinct color, and the primary objective is to arrange them into groups of four or more Wit's of the same color. These groups can be formed horizontally, vertically, or even diagonally.
When a group of four or more same-colored Wit's is formed, they disappear, creating space for the Wit's above to fall. This opens up opportunities for chain reactions, or "combos," as newly fallen Wit's might inadvertently form other groups. Creating long combo chains is key to achieving high scores and, in two-player mode, sending "garbage Wit's" (dark-colored blocks) to your opponent's screen.
In addition to the regular colored Wit's, there are special or "garbage Wit's" that players need to manage. Garbage Wit's cannot be destroyed directly but are only removed when adjacent colored Wit's are cleared. Wit's gameplay requires quick thinking, strategic planning, and foresight to optimize chain reactions, offering a challenging and addictive puzzle experience.
