Introduce

Warriors of Fate is a side-scrolling beat 'em up arcade game developed and published by Capcom in 1992. The game is set in the historical Three Kingdoms period of China, based on the famous novel "Romance of the Three Kingdoms". Players take on the role of one of five mighty generals, each with unique skills and fighting styles, to battle against the armies of treacherous warlords, rescue the people, and restore peace.

Playable characters include:

  • Guan Yu - Balanced skills, strength, and speed.
  • Zhang Fei - Superior strength, slow but high-damage attacks.
  • Zhao Yun - Agile speed, flexible movement capabilities.
  • Huang Zhong - Ranged attacks with a bow, can deal damage from a distance.
  • Wei Yan - Good strength and grappling skills.

The gameplay of Warriors of Fate is characteristic of the beat 'em up genre. Players move through stages, defeating hordes of enemies using basic attacks, jump attacks, and special moves. Each character has a variety of attack combos, grappling moves, and a "super move" that can be performed by simultaneously pressing the attack and jump buttons (at the cost of a small portion of health).

A unique feature of Warriors of Fate is the ability to use weapons. Enemies often drop weapons such as swords, spears, crossbows, and even horses. Players can pick up and use these weapons to deal greater damage or perform ranged attacks. Riding a horse not only increases movement speed but also allows players to execute special attacks while galloping.

The game features various types of enemies, from common foot soldiers to powerful enemy generals, each with their own attack and defense patterns. At the end of each stage, players will face a boss, requiring strategy and skill to defeat. The graphics and sound of the game were highly praised upon release, creating an engaging and thrilling action experience. Warriors of Fate is a classic title, beloved by many and still holds its appeal to this day.
