Vigilante (World, Rev E)

In the classic arcade game Vigilante, players assume the role of a lone street hero tasked with rescuing his girlfriend, Madonna, from the clutches of the brutal Skinheads gang. This is a side-scrolling beat 'em up title where you will fight your way through five challenging stages, each with its own distinct setting and enemies.

The gameplay of Vigilante centers around intense close-quarters combat. The player can utilize basic attacks like punches and kicks to dispatch the numerous foes that appear from both sides of the screen. Additionally, you have the ability to jump and duck to evade incoming attacks or navigate obstacles. Enemies in the game are diverse, ranging from common thugs and bikers to those wielding weapons such as knives or guns.

To assist the player in this arduous fight, Vigilante offers several special weapons that can be picked up. The most notable are the nunchaku (nunchucks) and the shotgun. When collected, these weapons significantly boost your offensive power, allowing you to deal greater damage or attack from a distance. However, they are only effective for a limited time or until you get hit.

Each stage in Vigilante culminates in a dramatic boss fight. These bosses have their own unique attack patterns and weaknesses, requiring players to employ appropriate strategies to defeat them. The game's difficulty gradually increases with each stage, ensuring a continuous challenge for the player. The ultimate goal is to defeat the final boss and rescue Madonna, restoring peace to the streets.
