Time Soldiers (US Rev 3)

In Time Soldiers, players control a brave commando sent across different eras to rescue captured comrades from a mysterious enemy. The game is a top-down, run-and-gun arcade shooter, similar to other classic titles of its time.

Each stage transports you to a distinct historical or futuristic period, including prehistoric times with dinosaurs and cavemen, ancient Rome with legionnaires, World War I with soldiers and tanks, and even the future with robots and aliens. The primary objective in each zone is to locate and rescue imprisoned fellow soldiers while eliminating the endless waves of enemies that stand in your way.

Players start with a basic rifle but can collect more powerful weapons such as machine guns, flamethrowers, rocket launchers, and grenades. These special weapons typically have limited ammunition, requiring players to use them strategically. Controls often involve an 8-way joystick for movement and a rotary joystick (or separate buttons) for firing in any direction, allowing players to move and shoot independently – an advanced feature for its time.

Enemies vary by era, ranging from spear-wielding warriors to armored vehicles and strange creatures. At the end of each stage, players will confront a unique boss, requiring tactical thinking and quick reflexes to defeat. Time Soldiers emphasizes continuous action, dodging projectiles, and effectively engaging enemies to complete the mission of rescuing comrades across space and time.
