Introduce

Tetris is a timeless puzzle game where the primary objective is to arrange falling geometric shapes, known as tetrominoes, to form complete horizontal lines without gaps. When a line is completed, it disappears, earning the player points and creating more space for new blocks.

Each tetromino consists of four small blocks arranged in different shapes (I, O, T, S, Z, J, L). These blocks fall from the top of the screen into a rectangular playfield. Players use controls to rotate the block, move it left or right, and accelerate its descent (known as a soft drop). The goal is to strategically place the blocks so they fit together, forming a solid horizontal line.

When one or more lines are completed, they are cleared, and the player earns points. Clearing multiple lines simultaneously (e.g., a Tetris – clearing four lines at once with an I-block) yields higher scores. As the game progresses, the speed at which the blocks fall increases, raising the difficulty and requiring faster reactions. The game ends when the blocks stack up to the top of the screen, leaving no room for new blocks to fall.

The arcade version of Tetris on the Sega System 16A system stands out with its vibrant graphics, distinctive sound effects, and addictive gameplay, offering a captivating puzzle experience in arcades.
