Introduce

Tank Force is a classic top-down arcade shooter, released by Namco in 1987. As a spiritual successor to Tank Battalion and Battle City, it offers an engaging tank combat experience with significant improvements.

In Tank Force, players control a tank, and the primary objective is to protect their base (represented by an eagle emblem) from continuous waves of enemy tanks, while simultaneously destroying all enemy tanks that appear on screen. The game supports two-player cooperative mode, allowing two players to strategize and work together to achieve their goals.

Each stage features a unique terrain layout, including various obstacles such as destructible brick walls, indestructible steel walls, bushes (for hiding), ice (slippery), and water (impassable). Players must utilize the environment to their advantage or to evade enemy attacks.

Enemies consist of different tank types, ranging from basic tanks that are easily destroyed to armored tanks requiring multiple hits, or special tanks capable of picking up power-ups. Upon destroying a certain number of enemy tanks, a power-up will appear, granting beneficial effects such as: Star (increases firepower and firing speed), Helmet (temporary invincibility), Grenade (destroys all enemies on screen), Shovel (converts brick walls around the base into steel walls), and Tank (grants an extra life).

The ultimate goal is to complete all stages, with difficulty progressively increasing, demanding agility, tactical thinking, and good coordination between players.
